We are pleased to introduce Duchess, our newest foster friend!

This is Duchess, Lady Bea's newest foster friend.

Duchess joined our family on Sunday October 28th. She was a stray that ended up with animal control. We picked her up the day before she was set to be euthanized. Animal control felt that she was too "old" and too "sick" to be released to rescue. After convincing them to give her a shot, this "old, sick" dog practically dragged me out of the shelter. 2 days later, after treating her for kennel cough, my vet gave Duchess a clean bill of health. On Nov 26th she is going back in to have her teeth cleaned and some cysts removed. Our vet placed Duchess at 6-7 years old, and she is just a phenomenal dog. She even has a few "tricks" up her sleeve, as she sits, shakes, and goes down on command. Duchess is housetrained, crate-trained, great with other dogs, great with cats and does best when she is being loved and petted on.

Duchess needs a forever home. Could it be yours? If so, visit ABC Basset Rescue's website at www.nybasset.org for more information on Duchess and the adoption process.
